Rumson is located in Monmouth County, nestled at the end of a peninsula between the Navesink and Shrewsbury Rivers. Residents of this wonderful small town can walk to sunny beaches, and enjoy boating both in the Summer and ice boating in the Winter. Other wonderful towns that boast waterfront homes in the immediate area, include Sea Bright which has the river and the ocean! Little Silver has many inlets off the Shrewsbury with deep water docking and on Blackberry Bay. It's neighbor Oceanport has wonderful deep water dockage along the bay also. Fair Haven has the broad expanse of the Navesink as well as inlets and ponds. Middletown faces Rumson and Fair Haven across the Navesink, and parts of Middletown such as Locust are on Clay Pit Creek which runs along side the Hartshorne Woods off the Navesink. Red Bank even has a waterfront hospital, situated on the Navesink.

Rumson A Premier Waterfront Community
Rumson has always been a very affluent area. In fact, it is still one of the wealthiest towns in New Jersey. The homes are spectacularly large, many with private yachts anchored in the Navesink River, which serves as their backyard. Locals enjoy the beautiful beaches just over the Oceanic Bridge, as well as a quick commuter ferry to downtown Manhattan. Quiet and reserved it is town with a long tradition of old money and good manners. Located within minutes of Sandy Hook Park with it's miles of natural beaches. There are many area beach clubs which offer great opportunities for socializing and for swim competitions. However the local beaches are also beautiful and there is plentiful parking in Sea Bright Municipal Lot on Ocean Avenue.
